Whilst living in Lochinver, a major white fish port in the 1970's, I was struck by the difficulty of actually being able to buy local fish. Ever since then it was always in the back of my mind to exploit this fantastic local resource. I never really thought my dream would become a reality. However in 1992 the opportunity arose and

The present building opened in April 1996 as
Kishorn Seafood Bar, with a
stunning view over the sea to Skye (on a
clear day). Since then, the menu, premises, and procedures have developed.
We have just given the building a
complete facelift to celebrate our 15th
Anniversary. In 1999 we achieved the Investors In People standard and again in 2001. In 2000 we purchased a lobster tank, which has proved very useful, and we also became licensed around the same period. Our Seafood Platter is highly popular and has won a
Best of Wester Ross Award for 2006. We also recently appeared in
The Independent Magazine - 100 Best Restaurants in the UK
(10 Best Seafood Restaurants) as well as
the
Scottish
Field magazine (in which we
featured as one of the editor's choices of
top seafood restaurants) and the
BBC Countryfile Magazine.

Oysters from Skye and King Scallops, Lobster, Smoked Salmon and Fresh Salmon also obtained locally. These are all simply cooked and served along Spanish lines.

The premises are open plan so customers can watch and talk to us, as their meal is prepared. Our ethos and aim is to provide a clean, pleasant, unpretentious, friendly Scottish environment.
We have strived to achieve this over the past 15 seasons. A very large proportion of our customers visit us again, often for our Garlic Scallops or to indulge in our Seafood Platter.
We look forward to meeting you.
Best Regards
Vivienne Rollo
